One of my best friends in elementary school would always bring these in her lunch or on snack days. I LOVED them! One year our school made a cookbook for a fundraiser. My mom bought a copy for herself and stored two away, one for me and one for my sister.  My friend's mom submitted her recipe for the tandy cakes and I love to make them using her recipe. They taste just as good years later.

INGREDIENTS

4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. melted butter 
2 cup sugar
2 cup flour
1 cup milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup peanut butter
12 ounce bag of  milk chocolate chip

DIRECTIONS

Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored. Gradually add sugar and melted butter. Add milk and vanilla. Blend dry ingredients together and fold into the egg mixture. Blend well and poor batter into a greased 15 1/2"x10 1/2"x1" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and spread peanut butter over warm cake. refrigerate until cool.  Melt chocolate chips and spread over peanut butter.
